Headlines Report – Summer, 2023
This report is from the Burlington County 4H Cloggers and will include events that took place from May to July.
Pictures are included for your enjoyment.
Cloggers decorated the display case at the 4H office for the month of May, please see the picture.
4H participated in the Vincentown Memorial Day Parade in May. We had a good group, some of us walked while others rode on the float. We greeted the parade goers on behalf of 4H.
Cloggers finished their Spring community service project, which was collecting wet and dry kitten food and towels for the Burlington County Animal Shelter. We had a good size donation to give to this worthy group. Cloggers love to have Spirit Nights. A picture of our Patriotic Spirit Night is attached.
4H again participated in the Maple Shade Fourth of July Parade. A little smaller group, a little hotter day, but we still had big smiles.
Cloggers were hard at work at practices preparing for Farm Fair. We participated as a club in the Leaders Council Craft Challenge. We also submitted a club pallet that had every member’s thumb print made into a clover! Paint the barrels is always a fun event leading up to Farm Fair. This year Cloggers gathered and painted scenes on a barrel for the Fair. We also decorated a pennant for display in the 4H tent.
Farm Fair 2023, our biggest performance of the year! We had many announcers for our dances, and we tried to give a history of our club, a history of Clogging, officer introductions, and new member announcing. We were awarded beautiful blue and white ribbons for our performance.
Our member, Ashley McAfee, was a contestant in this year’s Farm Fair Queen Contest, and she represented our club, her family and herself wonderfully. Congratulations on your achievement Ashley!
We are now getting ready to welcome new members in September and October. Please contact one of our leaders if you are interested in joining us.
Respectfully submitted,
Kira M., Recorder
