This invitational small animal show, open to all 4-H members will be held April 23rd at the Somerset County 4-H Center.. Ocean County 4-H Animalology Event
Saturday, May 14th at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 708 Route 88, Point Pleasant. Open to all youth in grades 4-13.
An educational friendly competition offering youth the chance to gain new knowledge, meet new 4-H friends, and have fun at a team-based trivia event. Youth register as individuals and have a team of four drawn from a hat on the day of the competition. After teams are established, they are given a study period to review informational boards created by their peers, focusing on topics of animal science and beyond. Awards will be given in Junior and Senior divisions to the top four teams and the top 10 individuals. Registration is due May 2nd – for information contact ferrie@njaes.rutgers.edu or 732-349-1227
New Year – Better You: April HEALTH Challenge
All 4-Hers are invited to participate in this 4th and final of four challenges for 2022! April’s challenge focuses on the HEALTH “H.” We challenge 4-Hers to focus on their physical AND mental health this month. Challenge yourself to try new recipes, be more active or try a new physical activity! Practice journaling, mindfulness, yoga, or anything to make you feel good about yourself. Words, Words, Words: Story Writing Contest for ALL NJ 4-H youth!
Open to any 4-H member grades 4 and up.

Enter any one of the subject categories and submit your work in the word count that you choose.Your submission MUST tell a story and adhere to word count requirements. Poetry x Hunger: Poetry Call from Middle and High School Youth Expressive Arts 4-H is introducing Poetry X Hunger as part of National Poetry Month in April. Join in the Poetry X Hunger project promoted by Expressive Arts 4-H of Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Write poems which inspire your readers to prevent and eradicate hunger and poverty. If you would like to learn more about the many forms of poetry you can choose from, contact Ellen Williams, Expressive Arts 4-H Agent at williams@njaes.rutgers.edu.
