In July 2021, over 225 hygiene items and inspirational notes were dropped off to Visions and Pathways in Bridgewater. The hygiene items and inspirational notes were collected to help homeless youth in New Jersey.
In June 2021, items including: bags of sample-size toiletries and two laundry baskets containing: sheet sets, towels, wash cloths, games, and playground balls were dropped off to Crossroads Program in Willingboro; all of those items will go to support homeless youth in Burlington County.
In June 2021, the Active Citizenship Club met in person to sort and organize the hygiene items donated for Visions and Pathways and Crossroads Program.
Between February and March 2021, our group met virtually with a Somerset County 4-H club to discuss and learn about needs of homeless teens in New Jersey.
In January and May 2021, eight Birthday Boxes were shopped for, assembled, and donated to Generations Family Success Center in Mt. Holly (five in January and three in May) to distribute to families who cannot afford to host birthday celebrations for their children.
In January 2021, our group wrote inspirational note cards, decorated lunch bags, and mailed them to Seeds of Hope in Camden, New Jersey. These cards and bags were used to package meals for homeless people on the streets of Camden.
During November of 2020, members shopped for and shipped Holiday Care Boxes to deployed Airmen – the boxes went to support fifteen Airmen in eight locations around the globe.
In November 2020, the Active Citizenship Club made delivery of Coffee Cards to Mount Holly Police Officers, 45 Gift Cards were presented to thank them for their service to our community.
These projects were all made possible by through generous donations of funds and items from Burlington County 4-H Leaders’ Council; other 4-H clubs; and families, friends, and neighbors of our club members. Thanks to everyone who helped our club to serve over 100 people in our community!
